The Guardian
Of Fair & Safe markets
The North Carolina Beer & Wine Wholesalers Association is the voice for North Carolina’s independent beer and wine distributors, advocating for a fair & safe market that works for everyone.
We advocate for common-sense policies that ensure North Carolina’s three-tier system works as intended — a practical tool that supports a stable, safe, and accountable marketplace.
We are on the ground in communities across the state, providing objective, real-world insight that helps policymakers and regulators protect consumers, nurture and stabilize the industry, and grow local economies.
A Balanced System
North Carolina operates under the three-tier system — separating suppliers, distributors, and retailers to ensure no single group has too much control. The result is a fair, transparent market with broad selection and strong consumer safety.
Suppliers
Brewers and winemakers of all sizes, from all parts of the state, the country, and from around the globe.
DISTRIBUTORS
The critical link connecting thousands of suppliers to over 20,000 retailers statewide.
Retailers
From large retailers and grocery stores to restaurants, bars, and neighborhood shops.
Protecting What Matters
1
A Fair & Safe market for All
We ensure the responsible, structured flow of beer and wine through the three-tier wholesale distribution system, helping to guarantee product integrity, common-sense policy, and consumer safety in every community across the state.

2
Local Insight, powerful Advocacy
Our distributors live and work in the communities they serve. We translate local market intelligence into effective policy advocacy and industry regulations that support small businesses and a competitive environment.

3
Here for Today, Ready for Tomorrow
We advocate for a modern regulatory framework that protects the public, while allowing the market to innovate and adapt to consumer demand and the future of the beer & wine industry — helping to build a clear roadmap for the next generation of products and consumers.

In the Community
North Carolina beer and wine distributors are active members of the communities they serve and care a great deal about how alcohol is marketed and sold here at home. To that end, our members actively partner with local charities, sponsor cultural events and lead responsible drinking initiatives to ensure their positive impacts extend beyond the warehouse.

Adams Beverages Donates Emergency Drinking Water
Adams Beverages, in partnership with Anheuser-Busch, recently donated hundreds of cases of canned water to volunteer fire departments in Candor, North Whiteville, Reelsboro, and Seven Springs in preparation for the summer wildfire season.

NCBWWA Supports Talk it Out NC
During our 2026 annual meeting, NCBWWA contributed $1,000 to the marketing firm representing Talk it Out NC, a campaign designed to reduce underage drinking in our communities.

Long Beverage Supports Corona Cares and UNC Cancer Hospital
Since 2011, Long Beverage and Corona Cares have proudly supported the UNC Cancer Hospital and other UNC affiliated hospitals across the state. Together they have raised approximately $3.4 million during that time.
